Heroes: Previewing the End of Volume 2
Fans may be delighted to know that NBC has released spoilers for the end of Heroes, with official descriptions for the final three episodes of Heroes volume 2. These spoilers do have some good content in them, and it proves that the producers have been brushing up on their creative skills after the sloppy first half of season 2.
Beginning with episode 2.9 entitled “Cautionary Tales,” the Company is yet again at the Bennett’s trail, and HRG gets Claire to pack up and get ready to run. However, Claire seems to be as stubborn as ever, as she wants to just stop running and live her life. Hiro finally returns from the past and finds out what really happened while he was gone–yes, his father is now dead. A devastated Hiro then travels to the past and discovers a vital fact about himself. Shortly after Suresh encountered Elle, he made a decision that could greatly affect other people’s lives. Meanwhile, daddy Matt is still discovering his other mental abilities while Maya and Alejandro’s relationship is tested as they travel with none other than Sylar.
Moving on to episode 2.10 entitled “Truth and Consequences,” Peter again goes into the heroic act of saving the world from the Shanti Virus, which he believes will kill 93% of the population. He heads to Primatech Paper in Texas with his newfound friend for his mission. Niki and Micah finally reunite, while Monica puts her abilities to the test when she decides to right the wrong. While Hiro tracks down his father’s killer, Matt uses his mental abilities to track down the last person in the Company photo. Nathan learns that Peter is alive and finally, Maya has to choose between Alejandro and Sylar.
Episode 2.11 is entitled “Powerless,” quite a sad title for an ending. In this episode, a hero goes up against another hero in a battle to the finish as Peter reunites with Nathan in Primatech Paper in Odessa , Texas . There, they meet Matt and Hiro, with whom they encounter a conflict with due to Adam’s pursuit of the Shanti Virus. Micah then turns into his mother after watching his heroic cousin get kidnapped by a street gang. Meanwhile, Maya tragically finds out about who Sylar really is when he kidnaps Molly and Suresh. Elle then goes on a heroic mission to earn her father’s favor.
NBC promises the last three episodes of Heroes to be as explosive as ever, so fans hang on to see if the end really meets the true Heroes standard.

Wanted! The Outlaws $5.62 Less successful when it’s sentimental (Waylon Jennings’ “My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys”) than when it’s wry (Willie Nelson’s myth-puncturing “Me and Paul”), this cash-in compilation of previously released cuts was just in time to grab the first platinum record ever awarded a country album. It’s not bad, but both Jennings’ contemporaneous Dreaming My Dreams and Nelson’s Red Headed Stranger are… |

A Black & White Statement: The Story of the Rondos $25.99 The box set contains two CDs and four books, which together tell the story of the Rondos from the period 1978–1980.• CD 1 with a Rondos live concert from 1978 • CD 2 with all the Rondos songs previously released on vinyl between 1978-80• Art in Revolution Calls: 228 page photo book from the Rondos archives• A Black & White Statement: 84 page autobiography (bi-lingual) of the Rondos.• Destroy the Entertainment: 60 page lyric book, in English• Graffiti and Aerosols: 48 page comic book, with two new adventures of Red RatBetween 1978-80, the Rondos did 50 live shows. They released their records on their own independent label, King Kong Records, and together with three other bands (Rode Wig, Tändstickor Shocks, and Sovjets) formed the Rotterdam music collective “Red Rock,” with whom they shared gigs, equipment, and rehearsal space. Punk for the Rondos obviously meant more than “entertainment,” hence their slogan “Punk = Resistance.” Their independently published fanzine Raket (“Rocket”) quickly became the mouthpiece of many Dutch youth who turned their backs on consumerist society. The Rondos operated from the house called Huize Schoonderloo, a building that they saved from demolition and turned into a living and working space. Here they operated a print shop, a rehearsal room, and the alternative bookshop “Raketbasis” (“Rocketbase”). The Rondos gathered a fanatic and devoted following, but unhappy with the fact that this devotion threatened to turn them into punk heroes, which had nothing to do with their own idea of punk, the Rondos called it a day. The Rondos stem from the same generation of bands such as The Ex (in the Netherlands) and Crass (in England) with whom they shared equipment, stages, floor space, and in some cases, band members. |
